Thankful For Believing in Myself

Today I am thankful my parents taught me to believe in myself and that I can do anything I put my mind to.

A few months ago, after being stuck in the house for way too many days on end, I decided to demolish our fireplace surround. I took a crowbar and took down the mantel and then a hammer to all of the tile and took it all out. I did all of this while Mark was at work, he came home to quite the surprise.

This might seem crazy, and it was, but I totally believed that I could redo the surround to make it look like what I wanted.

After multiple attempts, I got frustrated and lost interest. So...for 6 months we have been without a mantel or tile. I am sure you can see it in some of my photos.

Well today my drive came back and I started working on it again. It isn't going to be exactly what I envisioned but I know I can do it.

Thank you mom and dad for always encouraging me to try something even if I wasn't 100% sure how to do it.

Here is the fireplace before I got to it...

Looking back it really wasn't bad

While I was in the zone...

Once I took down the mantel...

Hopefully in the next few weeks you will see a finished project. I definitely want this done before Christmas and Eliza's birthday...hopefully a lot sooner though.
