She Runs Like A Girl, Try To Keep Up

Eliza has found a new passion and nothing can seem to stop her. Well, lets see how that goes when the snow comes!

Back in April, Eliza took part in her first 5k and she hasn't slowed down since.

Coming up on 2 miles, hadn't slowed down

I am not sure where she got this interest from. Mark used to run, but because of a knee injury, he doesn't do it nearly as often as he used to, and lets be honest, unless it is running after the ice cream truck, you wouldn't see me out there. But thanks to her new found love, we are all running every week.

I am not big into team sports, mostly because I feel the pressure on kids is a bit much and I always feel bad for whomever loses. So when Eliza decided to start running, I figured this would be perfect. That was until I realized she is too young to do it on her own. So her and I lace up our shoes about 4 times a week and go for a run through the neighborhood.

The immense amount of pride I have for this girl is indescribable. She shows such determination, strength and confidence, I could bottle it and sell it for millions. During a run last week she said to me

Momma, no one can stop me! I am the coolest! I am Eliza P!!

As silly as it was, I beamed ear to ear. She truthfully believes this, as she should, and I hope it never goes away.

She has even met new friends running

As of today, she has participated in two 5k races and 3 shorter kid races. On the schedule we have three more 5ks set before it gets too cold. I am always on the lookout for other races for us to join. I am going to document her progress as she keeps improving her time and distance.

She doesn't know it, but we have a surprise come next November if she keeps up with this!

The Circus Has Come To Town

For Emelia's 18 month photos, we wanted to do something a little out of the box for us. We usually do very sweet and girly shoots, we decided to have a bit more fun this time. What is more fun than a circus?

Thank you, once again, to Meg from Shone Foto for coming up with such an awesome idea and gorgeous set up. Thank you to The Borrowed Boutique for the girl's TuTu Du Monde tutus and feather headband!

Mommy and Me Makes 3

Another gorgeous photo shoot thanks to Meg, from Shone Foto! This time we headed back to the apple orchard that we took this photo in, only now we had apple blossoms instead of apples!

I am always in such disbelief of the amazing photos Meg gets of our girls. I can't believe how grown up they are.

This weekend, daddy and me pictures!!!

Embracing The Snow

The snow has been here for about 2 months now, I guess it is time to embrace it. Actually, I hate it. I can't stand it. There is nothing I wish for more than for the snow to be gone and it to be warm again. But, since it is here for the time being, lets enjoy.

As always, our gorgeous photos are from Meg at Shone Foto, dress by Dollcake Vintage
